PO Box 1980

I remember receiving my first Grapevine. It was a loan made to me in 1977. In 1978, I paid for a subscription. I started to look forward to receiving my Grapevine through the mail; then the fear set in. I visualized my Grapevine coming in a big envelope with the return address: Alcoholics Anonymous printed on the upper left corner. I worried that my neighbors would know I was an alcoholic, as if my drunken antics had gone unnoticed. Then there was the nice postman--now he would know!
