Step Seven: an Adventure in Humility

My first adventure with Step Seven--getting on my knees in Trinity Church on Wall Street and earnestly reciting the Seventh Step Prayer--was an unassuming and useful exercise in willingness to follow AA suggestions and to seek divine help. But I was too embarrassed and angry at the ever-guilty-one (me) to note that my shortcomings remained unaffected and in healthy condition.
