Someone Lean on

One source of support

Fifteen years ago, when I was very young in sobriety, I confided to my sponsor that I was on a combination of antidepressant and anti-psychotic medications as treatment for clinical depression. I had been diagnosed by a number of professionals over a period of twenty years; not one had a differing opinion. My sponsor suggested that I not talk about this at meetings because there were some in AA who thought that the program could cure any form of depression. These members frowned on those who used what they referred to as "mind-altering drugs".
