If You Can't Beat 'Em,
From pillow fights to probation
My earliest memory of drinking is from when I was seven. My grandfather would take the family out to the lake on weekends. Booze had always been openly and socially acceptable in our household. Beer looked very appealing to me, even at that age. I would routinely ask to try some, and my mother would occasionally give in and let me sip from the bottle. I liked the taste, which is unusual, I hear. Most people I talk to now say they only liked the way alcohol made them feel.
