I don't think I would have faced my past had it not been for AA. Lying and selling myself short took me to a place of desperate soul-sickness. I can't exactly recall the emotions and feelings that gave way to tearful prayer, but I turned to a God I had forgotten and abandoned. That night, I slept the best I had in years--if not my whole, life.
