An inmate learns to lighten up
It didn't really occur to me until a few hours after it happened how miraculous the event was. I was actually in the shower when what I'd done suddenly registered. Although I'm not sure I'd ever done anything so momentous before, I knew that if I had, it had been a long while ago, probably long before I crossed the line into alcoholism.
