Ashes And Hope

AA lives in the hearts of its members

I held Vicki's hand as we watched the firemen rain water onto the smoldering remains of what had, just the day before, been a vibrant, active church and the site of one of Juneau, Alaska's, oldest AA meetings. The church was 110 years old and our group had been meeting there daily for at least a third of that time. As the firemen mopped up, it was obvious that the church was a total loss. The fire had reduced our beloved landmark into a pile of cinders.
