Walking beside me

In my nineteenth year of sobriety, my employer asked me to take a leave of absence for an undetermined amount of time and the owner of my house sold the property to a new landlord, who doubled my monthly rent. I was unable to pay my monthly bills. I filed for bankruptcy, and my twelve-year-old son and I moved out of our home.
