High School Reunion

An AA finds a way to fit in

Recently, i attendedmy fortieth high school reunion. It's something I would not have done if I were still drinking and certainly would not have enjoyed in early sobriety, but it was a wonderful experience, thanks to Alcoholics Anonymous. As I get more time in the program, the past looks a little better every time I look back on it. Objectively, the past hasn't changed--I have. I see the good in learning experiences that seemed grim at the time and remember bits that weren't all that grim. In fact, some were rather cool. Festering resentments against people who did nothing to me--except be seventeen years old with richer, more sober, and more socially adept parents than mine--have long since healed.
