Re: "a question of tolerance" in the October 2006 issue: After entering the program and working Step Two, my program has grown to include organized religious practice. As I grew from an agnostic to a member of an organized religion, I was encouraged on the path by the words of the Big Book and my sponsor. I follow the advice of those who went before me on the road to recovery. The AA advice to study AA literature and keep an open mind brought me to a new understanding of my Higher Power. My spiritual experience continues to grow. There is no separation between my spiritual life in AA and the practice of my religious beliefs.
