What does it take to heal the deepest wounds?

In july of 1986, i walked out of an AA meeting and drank. I drank for three months until I was found on the streets of Glendale, Arizona, with a backpack, ten dollars in change, and a nearly-empty bottle of vodka. I'll never forget that day. There was nothing left. I felt empty, hopeless, and alone. I was done.
