Better Than I Deserve

A boy becomes a man under the tutelage of AA

I was born in tacoma, Washington. My mother had me when she was sixteen years old. She had partied in those years, but when she had me she decided to stop. Her father had been a drinker and was always disappearing; she made a decision to give me a better life. So, my mother found a sufficient enough reason to moderate. Now, my mother barely finishes a glass of wine. My father was eighteen when I was born. His parents met in AA and died sober when he was seventeen. My father didn't stop drinking, so my parents separated. Despite his drinking, he always did his best.
