Getting to meetings appeared to be a problem until a friend made a phone call

I was introduced to AA seven years ago, when the judge ordered temporary custody of my daughters to their father. I attended AA meetings for one reason only and that was to get my daughters back. Once this happened, AA would be history. I recall feeling pity for all those people who did not have the willpower to stop drinking on their own. I went to speaker meetings mostly, but could not relate. I was comparing their stories to mine, never identifying. I really didn't think I needed AA in my life to stop drinking.
