A pilot climbs out of the wreckage

In 1981, i was employed as co-pilot for an airborne geo-survey company in Baker Lake, Northwest Territory, searching for uranium ore. One day in September, we were assigned a mission that would take us 170 miles into the barren lands of the Canadian Arctic. The chief pilot was in command and I was map navigator. A data technician was also on board. The survey would take about an hour and our ferry time to the site another hour. The aircraft was fueled for seven hours.
