Alcohol death rates in UK nearly double since 1991

Alcohol-related death rates in the UK continue to increase, rising from 12.9 deaths per 100,000 population in 2005 to 13.4 per 100,000 in 2006, according to a 2008 report published by The Office for National Statistics, UK. In 1991, the rate was 6.9 deaths per 100,000 people.
