UK doctors report extensive alcohol problems

A high percentage of all doctors in private practice across the UK, when asked about their patients with alcohol problems, illicit drug problems, and other mental issues, said they were treating patients for alcohol. Of the first 114 doctors who responded, 96.5 percent are currently treating patients with alcohol problems, and 90.4 percent have seen patients die from alcohol problems. The survey, by the Addiction Recovery Foundation, was published in the September issue of Addiction Today, the Foundation's journal.
