High-risk sexual behavior linked to alcoholism in young adults
Alcohol dependence in young adults was associated with high numbers of sex partners in a 2007 study. Researchers at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, looked at the number of sexual partners of those who were alcohol dependent, as well as those diagnosed with a conduct disorder. Of the alcohol-dependent, eighteen- to twenty-five-year-old participants in the study, 45 percent had had ten or more sexual partners since becoming sexually active.
