The past two years have been trying. I have lost my partner of fifty-four years and the last of my siblings. I stand alone and, in painful times, loneliness tries to steal my attempts to be content with life. The loss of a partner who has shared my trials and tribulations for these many years leads me to imagine happiness has passed me by. Yet I have the benefits of AA to stabilize my life to some degree, a wonderful program of sobriety and self-improvement to guide me in my search for a better life.
