Saturday Night
A while back, I was sitting at a neighborhood AA meeting on a Saturday evening when a woman I knew took a seat across from me. I was dressed in plain clothes, whereas she had on an evening dress. A feeling of embarrassment and vulnerability came over me. I waved to her self-consciously. Suddenly, I feared she was seeing something I hadn't wanted her to see, that I was alone and had no place else to go. She left at the break. I imagined that it was her way of saying she had plans for the evening.
