Saying Goodbye TO A SOBER DAD

A father & daughter finally connect

I have always wanted to be able to write something for the Grapevine, yet never felt moved until I read a recent story about families. My name is Debbie and I am an alcoholic. I have been saying that for twenty-one years. Just this past November, my father passed away. My father's name is Bill, and he was alcoholic. He had twenty-five - almost twenty-six - years of sobriety when he died. During his last few days on earth, and after, I began to realize and appreciate the significance of this recovery connection.
