Alcoholism can affect diagnosis of psychiatric syndromes
Heavy drinking associated with alcoholism can coexist with, contribute to, or result from several different psychiatric syndromes, and can complicate or mimic practically any psychiatric syndrome, making it difficult to accurately diagnose psychiatric complaints, a University of Cincinnati College of Medicine study showed.
