Living in a foreign country put this bird-watcher's program into perspective
By the time I quit drinking, I had been through numerous rehabs and mental wards, and had attempted suicide. My body was so allergic I got sick and ended up in the hospital every time I picked up a drink. Then I got sober in California, and for two years, did nothing but go to AA meetings.
