Three years and going

Here is a textbook story of alcoholics working with other alcoholics. October 9, 2008, marked my three-year sobriety date. My sponsor handed down a three-year coin to me, the twenty-sixth time it had been passed down, beginning in New York. Recovering alcoholics numbers one through sixteen, from the New York area, received this coin on their third year of continuous sobriety. We are logging the trail of this coin as it is passed on from one AA member to the next. It continues: #17 Geraldo, #18 George, #19 Mike, #20 Jimmy, #21 John, #22 George K., #23 Ross H., #24 Brian C., #25 Matthew Mc., and #26 Steve C. We are an AA example of unity among friends who share the sickness of alcoholism and work the program with a daily reprieve.
