Third Time's a Charm

After three marriages and decades of drinking, this AA finally surrenders

My alcoholism robbed me of my self-confidence, replacing it with paralyzing fear and insecurity. Self-doubt and fear of everything imaginable had hung over me like a shadow since childhood. Though I came from a loving family, I was a victim of grade-school bullying. My parents, non-alcoholics, were my greatest champions and always tried to build up my feelings of self-worth and self-confidence.
