Dear Grapevine
IN response to "Hello, I'm an alcoholic" (PO Box 1980, February 2009 Grapevine), about keeping each program in its proper meeting, I feel that today's society has so many drugs out there that our newcomers are probably addicted to more than just alcohol. As a youngster I started with alcohol and graduated on to drugs. After I went to treatment, I went to all the programs and found I was most comfortable in AA. I used the AA concept not only on my drinking but also on my drug addiction, and it works! If I had to keep each one of my addictions in its proper meeting I would have had to go to meeting 24/7. If AA works for not only the alcoholic but also the addict, what can it hurt?
