On his first solo flight, a pilot finally feels the presence of his Higher Power

I HAD reached the jumping-off point, but thanks to what can only be described as a miracle, my attempt to commit suicide was unsuccessful. While recovering in the hospital, my friends from AA told me that I urgently needed to make some major changes in my life and they posed this question, "If you had succeeded or, even worse, become permanently brain damaged, what would you most regret not having done with your life?" I didn't have to think very hard. I told them that I'd always wanted to learn how to fly. "Well, that's what you need to do," they said. "Make it your top priority!"
