LOOKING TOWARD AA'S FUTURE

AS a side note in my journey through recovery, this story clearly demonstrates what happens when money and spirituality mix. Please keep an open mind and understand that AA World Service has a great responsibility in exercising AA's primary purpose. The miracles of money and spirituality I witnessed firsthand are still happening in other countries around the world today. To further demonstrate this miracle, today there are AA meetings in 29 cities throughout Turkey. Whenever I make a contribution at an AA meeting, this is an opportunity to give back what has been given to me; I am making a contribution toward the future of my sobriety, no matter where I may end up. Another important note is that the growth of AA in Izmir and throughout Turkey was much like that in the United States and Canada. Those of us who were there were privileged to witness firsthand some of what Bill and Bob went through over 50 years ago. I'm grateful for the experience of the AA program passed to me by my first sponsor.
