I want to commend MP for her "What's on Your Mind?" submission, "Safe Haven" (August 2009). It's a universal problem. I had a sponsor like hers. When I was sober for a few years, I was taken to talk at several women's correctional facilities by my sponsor and a male member of the committee. When he asked why I never talked about "that stuff" at meetings in our home group, my demure, civil sponsor snaried, "Because she'd need a body guard to get to the parking lot!"
