Dear Grapevine

In "What I've Learned" (June 2009), the author discusses judges and others sentencing people to attend AA. I have seen a negative impact on open meetings when over half of the attendees are on "court cards." Over my 34 years I believe I have seen more harm done to AA and potential members by forcing attendance to AA. I'm all for carrying the message to those who want it, but not to those who "need" it.
