A theology student believes he's too young, too religious, too different for AA

IN DECEMBER of 1972, I went to my first AA meeting to gain strength because I was a member of another twelve-step program. I did not consider myself to be an alcoholic when I entered the meeting that night, but as the speaker told his story, I began to wonder. I was 25 years old and he was twice my age. Yet his story when he was 25 sounded like mine. He had continued drinking for many more years, and his life had continued to get worse.
