Twenty-two years ago I attended my first AA meeting at a rehab. I was 15. My first sponsor passed away, and at age 25 or 26 I asked Tom S. to be my second sponsor. He said I wouldn't want him because he didn't love anyone, and that most people were looking to have smoke blown up their butts.
