Oldie but goodie
A woman, new to AA, wished to remain anonymous even to her offspring. Instead of laying it out straight for the little ones, she used the excuse that she was "going out to play cards." She went to a lot of meetings, and night after night as she departed she would say cheerfully, "Well, I'm off to my card game."
