Cult-like or just welcoming?

I was so deeply offended on several different levels by this article that I felt compelled to write in for the first time. I can now see that this author has allowed a personal pet peeve to become an indictment of the AA Fellowship as a whole. I also disagree that we have "failed" in our mission because we have "only" reached 2 million members, instead of the 8 million the author thinks we should have, based upon a growth rate that is unsustainable in any economic model, or in nature itself.
