EARLY EXPOSURE

YPAA service evolves into starting a meeting in a juvenile detention center

HAVING been exposed to AA at age of 17 and finally asking for my first sponsor at 23, I have in the past 17 years been drawn to young people's groups. I have been taught and learned that AA is all-inclusive and the only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking. We speak the language of the heart whether at young people's meeting, old-timer's meetings, women's, men's or other meetings. That said, my admission into the younger AA crowd happened almost by mistake.
