A need for fellowship overrides a newcomer's fear of rejection

YOUNG People in Alcoholics Anonymous (YPAA) terrified me, as individuals and as a whole. So I did what any good alcoholic does--I judged them. Who were these people going to dances, playing dodge ball and taking road trips to events? And why, God, why, are they so happy? I mean, really, who wants to be part of that?
