A friend's death after relapse tells a newcomer that alcohol would never be the solution
I DIDN'T choose AA. AA chose me. I never denied having a problem with alcohol, but it was the least of my problems. It was in fact the cure for what I believed truly ailed me. I started drinking at around the age of 17 because it was the magic elixir that wiped away my insecurity. It worked excellently for about a year, but then things suddenly took a dramatic turn.
