When I first came to Alcoholics Anonymous, I had to relearn a virtual dictionary full of words that I hadn't given much thought to before. Words like resentment, fear, anger and control. Not that I had given much thought to anything over the previous 25 years. But I was so full of self-loathing and despair that I was just about desperate to try anything to learn how to live without drinking.
