Lifetime dream
The baseline of what I need to survive is different from most, as I am a Gulf War veteran. I lived in the desert for six months without any creature comforts. I can remember sitting in a structurally unsound bunker with 53 others, packed in like sardines. You could smell the fear. Someone suggested we all say what we would do if we ever got out of the bunker. I said I would ride horses in Ireland. The laughter at the thought popped the tension balloon. Soon we learned that this was only a drill, and I forgot about this desire.
