A child of AA grows up to go home again

I was introduced to AA at the age of 7 when my mother sobered up. I started drinking myself when I was 10. It immediately numbed all my feelings, which for me was a good thing. I was abused in many ways as a child and was relieved to find something that helped me hide from life. I was a blackout drinker, but since I had no memory of what happened, it made it easy to not look at or see that there was a problem.
