I come from a long line of alcoholics from both sides of my family. Many never found the program of Alcoholics Anonymous and died drunk. At the time, I didn't realize they were suffering from alcoholism, I just thought they were mean people. I always told myself I would never be like them. Eventually I became one of those 'mean people' I pledged to never be. I became an alcoholic.
