A chance run-in while shopping changes a Texan's life

I worked two miles north of downtown Dallas before I was blessed with sobriety. I would always see a homeless man panhandling outside the building where I worked. I usually talked to him, but not because I was nice. I talked to him so I could compare and contrast how much better my life seemed.
