A Falling Leaf

My grown daughter and I shared a rented house and a car. I was a couple of months sober, and still pretty shaky. I had kept the car this night to attend an 8 p.m. AA meeting, then went to pick her up at an upscale Italian restaurant where she was the bar manager. She still had a couple of customers and couldn’t leave yet, so I sat down to wait. I had made a fool of myself in this bar several times when I was drinking. Thankfully, the owner never found out that I was the bartender’s mother.
