Bedtime story

With a bottle in his hand, a newcomer finds Step Two on a bedroom floor

So many alcoholics come into AA as atheists or agnostics. The idea of some universal boss moving the stars around, controlling the climate and men’s fortunes, is abhorrent to the intellectual. Downright primitive in fact. Like something out of a long gone ignorant era when men believed earthquakes and hurricanes were signs of the gods’ anger with mankind.
