My husband was thrilled when I told him I found a sponsor. He had heard how much success there is for alcoholics who have sponsorship. But he got discouraged after our first week of working together and now wants me to fire her. He came home and none of the household chores were done, I was still in my pajamas, and again dinner was not prepared. When he questioned my new lack of participation I simply explained the homework she gave me: “She said I have to change my old ways of thinking, and that I need to stop doing things that I used to do. So honey, I quit. Isn’t she amazing?”
