Am I Responsible?

My lack of responsibility was a hallmark of my drinking life. I was a fast starter, but a poor finisher. I always seemed to sabotage my own best plans and efforts. Alcohol and bad decisions continued to drag me further down. So when I took my first responsible action in sobriety, joining AA, I was fearful of repeating the same mistakes again. My sponsor told me to take everything just a day at a time. My home group showed me by their example how we work together to make things happen. Two or three can do what one cannot. This was my first glimpse at AA service.
