Pillow to Pillow
I first started drinking in the city with the older guys on the stoops of my old neighborhood. After I finished school, I got a job at a restaurant in a resort town. This job gave me a new crew to hang out with. It felt more grown up than when I sat on the stoops because I had a long day of work behind me, and I had a pocket full of cash to prove it. I was able to continue that life for about 10 years without major incident, except for one stroke of bad luck when I punched someone in a parking lot outside a club, right in front of a cop. That was my second arrest for disorderly conduct, but I didn’t remember much of it and had to ask friends for details.
