Light as a Feather
I was visiting with an AA friend recently, and we were sitting on her back three-season porch. Her husband had a telescope set up and it was pointed at an eagle’s nest. She encouraged me to look into the telescope, and as I did I was able to watch the eagle caring for and feeding her young babies. I could see the eagle’s yellow beak, its white neck feathers and dark feathers on its body. It was beautiful. I continued to look around the backyard and noticed a red willow standing out against the melting snow, the brown waving grasses, the ice melting on the lake and the sparkling waters starting to appear. It was the beginning of spring after a long winter.
