Panic at the Top

With her international acclaim rising sky-high, how could she possibly be an alcoholic?

I was a few weeks shy of my 55th birthday when I walked into an AA meeting on Nov. 9, 2008. From the outside view, my life appeared to have been a success: I had a senior position in an internationally acclaimed practice, projects around the globe, professional awards, invitations to speak at conferences and universities, a nice house in a historic neighborhood, a kid in a private school. Young people would seek me out for career advice, wanting to know how they could follow a similar path. They should only know.
