Walking Zombie

With bottle in hand, a mother of four sleepwalked through life, until one day a cop woke her up

As a child, I was shy and fearful of everything and everyone. I never spoke up or voiced my opinion about anything. All I ever wanted was to grow up and have a husband and family. I was fortunate to get everything I wanted: I married a good man and had four healthy children. We owned our own home and everything looked perfect from the outside. But inside I felt trapped and alone, and I wanted to run. I couldn’t tell anyone, because I thought I was bad for feeling that way.
