Sometimes it takes a sponsor to encourage us to paint our own masterpiece.
When I was new in sobriety, I met a woman who did not offer the kind of enormous affection I always craved. But she had everything else I wanted. She had a mansion on the water, with an art studio, a yacht, a handsome husband, 10 children, and an art gallery on Main Street. She also had 10 years of sobriety and was at meetings all the time doing needlepoint.
